Nuwara Eliya is located in the hill country of Central Province. Located just 55km west of Ella, and 39 km south east from Kandy as the crow flies. The journey has some of the most spectacular scenery of Sri Lanka. The green tea plantations cannot fail to fascinate.

Nuwara Eliya is also called “Little England”. Steeped in English traditions, such as golf and horse racing. At the Hill Club for example dinner jacket and tie are required in the dining rooms for the gentlemen. It is all “terribly English”.

Being in the Hill Country. The weather can be terribly English too. Expect cold and rain in the months of June, July and August. April though is their festival month with competitions of everything you can imagine from a car rally to pony races. There are even marques selling home-made jams, scones and cakes.

Whatever you choose to do in Sri Lanka, it will be a unique and memorable experience of a lifetime, with a Guides4me guide, who will look after you and by the end of the trip you’ve made a best friend.
